Strangers Again?

By. Kylie Conroy
She ponders the way
that you held her all day.
She questions the depths
of your knowledge,
Both inside and out.
But there was no wonder
That those hands on her shoulders
No one else can know her.
Single glace, all it took.
And just one small look.
How you knew it all
And to catch her fall
In the blink of an eye
And a subtle goodbye.
Words that were said
They fade off the page
And all that remains
is the smudge of the pains.
If only they knew,
What you used to do.
Again, as she blinks
Her heart starts to sink.
She questions again the moment
It ends.
It all disappears
And here comes the tears.
Both happy and sad
Now we're strangers again.
Is this how were left?
Is this what love is?
Mistakes and Regrets
And my heart will still ache
As I think and I remember
The memories we made.
Are they all photos
Of what we used to know?
You once were a stranger.
And i'll never forget
That a simple hello
Can lead us to a painful goodbye.
